Dual Enrollment Options at Ohio Virtual Academy
Ohio’s College Credit Plus program allows college-ready students to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from select Ohio colleges and/or universities at little or no cost to families. This program promotes rigorous academic pursuits and provides a wide variety of options for college-ready students in grades 7–12, including those interested in pursuing a particular career pathway.
What is College Credit Plus?
With Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP) program, high school students at Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) can earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking select college courses from participating Ohio colleges and/or universities. The CCP program promotes rigorous academic pursuits and provides a wide variety of options for college-ready students.

Who can participate in College Credit Plus?
Students in grades 7–12 (grade level during the current school year) can apply for College Credit Plus admission to a public or participating private college. The college will admit students based on their college-readiness in one or more subject areas.
To be eligible for CCP, a student must meet any of the following criteria:
(a) Obtains a remediation-free score on one of the standard assessment exams as outlined in paragraph (D)(2) of rule 3333-1-65.3 of the Administrative Code; or
(b) Has a cumulative unweighted high school grade point average of at least 3.00; or
(c) Has a cumulative unweighted high school grade point average of at least 2.75 but less than 3.00 and received an “A” or “B” grade in a relevant1 high school course.

Steps to Participate in CCP for the 2026-2027 School Year
- Attend the Information and Counseling Session on [need date from school] and/or watch the recording and view the presentation posted below.

OHVA College Credit Plus Presentation [PPT] - Submit your Online Intent to Participate and Counseling Session form (link will be available via QR code or in the slide presentation), due by April 1, 2026, or November 1, 2026 — a required password is provided during the meeting. NOTE: These forms are required for all CCP students, even if you have participated in the past.
- Apply to college(s) of your choice and complete admission procedures.
Transcripts can be requested at this link. - Once accepted, schedule your classes with your college advisor AND send a copy to your OHVA counselor with the following information:
- School name/logo
- Student name
- Course title
- Course number
- Location (online or on campus)
- Once in class, monitor your grades, ask for help if needed, pass your class, learn new things, and have fun!
CCP Sample Pathways
Ohio Revised Code section 3365.13 requires the creation of 15- and 30-Credit Model Pathways that students can use to inform their choices of College Credit Plus courses. For more information, please review the guidance document and the sample pathways.
In addition, Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways (OGTPs) map out the first two years of coursework for multiple programs across the state and can help create CCP model pathways and advise students on career-area-specific pathways.
CCP students should take courses that will accelerate their progress toward a degree or certificate program. Many colleges offer several CCP Pathways that outline some of the most common college courses that fit directly into specific degree programs. While the recommended pathways are available, other course options do exist. Students should speak directly with their CCP advisor to discuss course options.

- Attendance: Can your student commit to attending all scheduled classes?
- Assignments: Will your student complete assignments on time?
