Letter from the Head of School

OHVA Students and Families,

Welcome to the Ohio Virtual Academy 2026-2027 school year! I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer break. As we approach the first day of school, I want to share how excited we are to welcome both returning and new students and families to our OHVA community. 

A new school year brings a fresh start, new opportunities, and many opportunities for success. Whether you are joining OHVA for the first time or continuing your educational journey with us, we are honored to partner with you. Our amazing staff are ready to support, encourage, and guide students every step of the way.

As we begin this school year together, I wanted to share a few important school wide priorities:

Building Strong Connections

At OHVA, relationships matter. We are committed to helping every student feel connected, supported, and valued. Our teachers, counselors, advisors, and staff will consistently reach out to engage with students and families because meaningful connections are a key part of student success.  

Academic Achievement and Accountability

We believe every student can succeed when they are supported, challenged, and engaged in learning. This year, we will continue to focus on strong academic growth, consistent attendance, meaningful engagement, and helping students reach their individual goals. Together, we can create positive outcomes and celebrate achievements throughout the year.

Preparing for Today and Tomorrow

Our goal is not only to help students succeed in their current courses but also to prepare them for future opportunities. Whether a student’s path leads to college, career training, military service, or the workforce, we are committed to helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for the future.

Embracing Growth and Change

Education continues to evolve, and OHVA will continue adapting to ensure our students receive the best learning experience. We encourage students to remain resilient, engaged, and willing to try new approaches as they learn throughout the year.

Making a Difference Every Day

Being a part of OHVA is more than completing assignments and earning grades. It is about making a positive impact, supporting others, and striving to be your best each day. We encourage every student to take advantage of opportunities, stay engaged, ask questions, and take ownership of their OHVA experience.

As we begin another exciting year, I want to thank our families for their partnership and trust. Your support plays a critical role in student success, and we look forward to working together to help every student thrive.
